Arrival in Cape Town. Meet in the evening to discuss the route. Hotel
Day 3:
150 km Cape Town I
The route travels along the winding Chapman’s Peak coastal road to the Cape of Good Hope. Return to Cape Town along the False Bay with a visit to the penguin colony at Simon’s Town. Hotel
Day 4:
230 km Cape Town – Clanwilliam I
This day stage takes well-developed roads through the Citrusdal Valley and along the Cedarberg Mountains to Clanwilliam. Hotel
Day 5:
380 km Clanwilliam – Springbok I
We visit the gannet colony in Lambert’s Bay before continuing up the Atlantic coast to Springbok. Hotel
Day 6:
330 km Springbok – Fish River Canyon I
Border crossing into Namibia and trip through the world’s second largest canyon, the Fish River Canyon. Hotel
Day 7:
580 km Fish River Canyon - Sossusvlei I
We travel north through an increasingly desert-like landscape. We visit the Schmelen House in Bethanie and drive along the edge of the Schwarzrand plateau and the Tsaris Mountains to Sossusvlei. Lodge
Day 8:
410 km Sossusvlei – Swakopmund I
We start the day in the Namib-Naukluft National Park where we visit dune 45 and Dead Vlei. We then drive on through the Namib Desert and the Kuiseb Canyon to the sea. Hotel
Day 9:
330 km Swakopmund – Twyfelfontein I
The route runs along the coast to the seal colony at Cape Cross. We then move inland to the rocky landscapes at the foot of the Brandberg Mountain and Twyfelfontein, where we view the rock art. Lodge
Day 10:
330 km Twyfelfontein – Etosha I
We visit a petrified forest before continuing to the famous Etosha National Part. Lodge
Day 11:
150 km Etosha I
Day trip with a safari in the national park. Second night in the lodge
Day 12:
380 km Etosha – Omaruru I
We drive south to Omaruru through steppe-like terrain shaped by agriculture. Hotel
Day 13:
210 km Omaruru – Windhoek I
Final day of travel on well-developed roads to the capital Windhoek. Hotel
